January 26, 2013 Update

Planning for the 2013 show is already underway.  The current focus this month is figuring out what new elements will be added.  It is critical to figure this out first since it determines what new hardware must be purchased and more importantly what changes must be made to the song sequences.  Current plans are to add more LEDs, increase the number of Allen Balls in the trees, add an additional megatree, and rework the structural support of the megatrees.  There will also be one other major addition to the 2013 show, but you will all have to wait until December to see what it is.

It is official, the 2012 show is now in the books.  All lights have been taken down, repaired, and packed away for the season.  The repair process took longer than anticipated, but should make next year a lot easier.  It took 16 totes to store everything.

We have spent the last few weeks finalizing the plan for the show next year. It is critical to get this plan set as it affects all aspects of the show. The 2013 show will nearly double in size. The three large maple trees will have many more lights. There will be a second mega-tree, several mini-trees, and two large fire sticks. The total light count is going to be around 50,000. The next step will be to start working on the next song sequencing.
